Bear Necessities!

Creating forest art inspired by the work of Emily Carr

Rainbows have been learning about the habitats of different bears, they know polar bears live in the Arctic and that black bears live in forests. We looked at the art work of a Canadian artist, Emily Carr, who's work depicts the forest of North America where the black bears live. The Rainbows then used oil pastels to create fantastic pictures of the forests, inspired by Emily's work.

We're going on a bear hunt!

Frithwood was the location for our bear hunt, Rainbows spent the morning walking in the woods hunting for bears. We found lots of bear facts telling us about the different bears that live in our world. We were so excited to find a bear that wanted us to take it back to our classroom to play!
