Class 6 - Summer 2026
Science - Lifecycle of a Plant
This term, class 6 are exploring one of nature’s most fascinating processes: the life cycle of a plant. From tiny seeds to blooming flowers, the children had the chance to learn, observe, and even get hands-on with real plant specimens.
We began by discussing what a life cycle is — a series of stages that all living things go through.
The children then took part in a flower dissection activity. Each group was given a real flower in order to identify the different parts. This helped our discussion about how insects help plants to reproduce.

Class 6 Explore African Culture Through Mask Making
This term, Class 6 are learning about Africa and its rich and diverse cultures. As part of our art and geography work, the children enjoyed an exciting and creative project: designing and making African-inspired masks.
Learning About African Masks
Before starting their designs, the children explored the role that masks play in many African cultures. They learnt that African masks are not just decorative objects, but often have important meanings and purposes - including spiritual and ceremonial.
We discussed how different shapes, colours and patterns can symbolise ideas and how masks often reflect the natural world.
Designing and Making Our Masks
Inspired by what they had learnt, the children designed their own masks using bold patterns, expressive shapes, symmetry and vibrant colours.
African Masks
