Class 6-Jungle Fever
Class 6's visit to Cadbury World
Class 6 had a fantastic time on their trip to Cadbury World! They loved touring the factory, experiencing the 4D theatre, tasting delicious chocolate, and learning about the cocoa bean's journey from the rainforests of Ghana to the factory in Birmingham, where it is transformed into chocolate. The talk about the rainforest was a big hit, and they were thrilled to meet Freddo and the Caramel Bunny!

Black History Month Workshop
Class 6 had a workshop from Ronnie this week who came into to talk to us about black history and poetry. We had great fun listening to and reading nonsense poems and we even had a go at saying some of our own.
We learnt about significant black people who had made great achievements which Ronnie incorporated into a poem. We also learnt about Ankara patterns from African art. We then created our own patterns and wrote poems in our sketchbooks.

Y6 Ukulele
Class 6 have been learning to play the Ukulele this term with great results. They have learnt to play several notes and chords and how to read sheet music. They have also been learning about different genres of music including the blues, calypso and tango. Watch out for information about our end of term concert to parents to show off our skills.
Henri Rousseau Art
Class 6 have been creating oil pastel artwork based on the art of Henri Rousseau. They zoomed in on the skins of rainforest animals to create a patchwork of patterns and giant leaves for our shared area.
Welcome to Y6
Welcome back! Class 6 have come back after the summer holidays excited and raring to go with our new theme 'Jungle Fever'. During this theme we will be learning about the Rainforests of the World including the Amazon. We will be finding out about the layers of the Rainforest and the animals and plants that live and grow there. We have started our theme by looking at the art of Henri Rousseau and his painting 'Tiger in a tropical storm (surprised!)' to inspire and create our shared area. Watch out for some pictures coming soon.
