Class 4 - Autumn 2025 - H₂O
Map work
Year 4 have been brilliant geographers this week! They explored and identified the rivers of the United Kingdom using atlases and computer mapping, locating well-known rivers such as the Thames and Severn. The children worked together with great curiosity and enthusiasm, learning how rivers shape the land and connect different parts of our country. It was wonderful to see their excitement as they shared their discoveries!
National Waterways Museum
Year 4 had a wonderful experience on their theme-related trip to the Waterways Museum in Gloucester. The day included an engaging STEM workshop, where the children learned how cogs and gears can make lifting weights easier. They also had the opportunity to explore the museum, discovering fascinating exhibits about canals and boats, and took part in an informative water safety talk. It was a fun and educational day for everyone!
A Bigger Splash
Class 4 have been looking at the British artist David Hockney and his painting A Bigger Splash. The children tried out different techniques to represent water before creating their own version of A Bigger Splash, choosing their preferred water technique for the pool and using collage for the buildings.
Flower art
This week, Class 4 have been busy creating some beautiful paper flowers. Each flower is representing the growth and flourishing of every child in our school community. These will come together to form a whole-school display in our main hall. It will be a vibrant celebration of colour, creativity, growth, and togetherness.
