Year 3 Viking Residential

This week, as part of our theme “Invasion!”, we stayed at the Ancient Technology Centre in Dorset and had a fantastic time. The experience allowed the children to live and work as Vikings for the day. All the children in Class 3 showed the full range of Bussage Learning Powers during the trip. They pushed themselves to be the best that they can in all the activities. The whole class joined in enthusiastically throughout the day. They worked hard indoors: washing, cutting and preparing vegetables; grinding flour on the quern stone; making butter, cooking the stew and making flatbreads. The hard work continued outside, making cob bricks and cutting and splitting firewood. The weather was also fantastic which was the cherry on top of the cake. The school could not be prouder of the class’s behaviour and positive attitude during the trip.

Welcome back to the summer term and our new theme ‘Invasion!” Throughout this term we will be learning all about some of the invaders and settlers who came to this Island after the Romans left.
