Class 2 - Autumn 2025 - All About Me

Super Senses

In Science, we have been learning all about our five senses. We carried out five different experiments, one for each sense!

For touch, we tried to guess and feel different hidden objects, describing the differences in their textures.
For hearing, we went outside and created some incredible sound maps. Class Two sat in the reflection garden and drew pictures to represent all the different sounds they could hear.
For sight, we went on a shape hunt around the classroom.
For smell, Class Two were given a variety of different scents to identify. As you can see in the photos, some were definitely nicer than others!
Finally, our most exciting experiment was taste. We sampled different foods and grouped them by their properties. Almost all of our predictions were correct, lemon was by far the sourest food!

Week 1-3

We have had a fantastic start back at school in Class Two! In English, we began the term by recounting our summer holidays and loved sharing our experiences with each other. In Topic, we launched our theme ‘All About Me’ with a fun skeleton dance and started exploring the different organs in the body. We also introduced our class read, The Day the Crayons Quit, by going on colour hunts. Afterwards, we went outside to see if we could spot something for every colour! In RE, we are learning about Muslims and their community. The children showed great respect while looking at Islamic artefacts and came up with lots of thoughtful questions we hope to answer this term. In Maths, we have been learning about place value within 100, using dienes, place value charts and part–whole models to represent different numbers. There are lots of exciting things ahead, so keep checking the class page to see what we get up to next!
